“Bulldogs’ Ciraldo Contemplates Lineup Change Ahead of Crucial Melbourne Clash”

April 10, 2024

Cameron Ciraldo is hesitant to commit to keeping Stephen Crichton at fullback for the Bulldogs, even though Crichton will start in that position for the first time this season in Friday’s game against Melbourne, with Blake Taaffe out due to concussion.

In addition to Taaffe’s absence, the Bulldogs are also missing Max King (wrist), Kurt Mann (hand), Jacob Preston (jaw), Blake Wilson (pneumonia), and Ryan Sutton (knee).

Despite the injury woes, fans are excited to see Crichton in action at fullback, a position many expected him to play when he joined the Bulldogs from Penrith last year. However, Ciraldo clarified that Crichton didn’t specifically request to play fullback and has always prioritized what’s best for the team.

While facing Melbourne with an injury-hit squad might seem daunting, Ciraldo remains optimistic. He has a perfect record against Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy in his previous caretaker coaching roles at Penrith and secured his first win as Bulldogs coach last season.

Ciraldo is focused on ensuring the team is mentally prepared and ready to compete on Friday night, emphasizing the importance of effort and attitude in securing a victory against Melbourne.
