Although the Tennessee Titans are one of the youngest franchises in theNFL, with a history of mixed success over the past 25 years, their predecessors, Ken Stabler, were once a dominant team.

In a unique move in professional football, the Oilers relocated to Tennessee in 1997 and changed their name to the Titans in 1999. Despite the name change, the Oilers’ quarterbacks are included in this list, as they are part of the same franchise lineage as the Titans.

Here are the top 10 quarterbacks in Titans (and Oilers) history:

10. Kerry Collins (2006-2010):
Collins spent most of his time in Tennessee as a backup to the injury-prone Vince Young, but his standout 2008 season, where he helped lead the team to a 13-3 record and earned a Pro Bowl selection, secures his place here. His steady play in the 2008 season was key to the Titans earning the AFC’s top seed, even though he didn’t put up flashy statistics.

9. Pete Beathard (1967-1969):
Beathard was not known for precision, with a career quarterback rating of 51.2 and a completion rate under 50%. However, he contributed to the Oilers’ success, posting a 15-9 record as a starter, including a 7-2 mark in 1967, which helped the team reach the AFL Conference Championship, though they lost to the Raiders.

8. Ken Stabler (1980-1981):
Stabler, a Hall of Famer, is best known for his time with the Oakland Raiders, where he won a Super Bowl and was named MVP. However, during his brief time with the Oilers, he helped stabilize the team after the departure of Dan Pastorini, leading them to an 11-5 record in 1980, despite throwing 28 interceptions. His second season, however, was less successful.
