The Carolina Panthers faced several clock-management challenges in their loss to the Denver Broncos, including two delay of game penalties against Bryce Young’s offense. There were multiple instances where Young struggled to get the plays called and the ball snapped in a timely manner. Head coach Dave Canales emphasized that his quarterback needs to show more urgency in the huddle and during pre-snap adjustments to prevent costly penalties.

Despite the issues, the Panthers did manage to execute a clock-savvy scoring drive in the final moments without any timeouts. Canales didn’t solely criticize Young; he also commended him for throwing two touchdowns and passing for over 220 yards against a formidable defense. Canales noted that Young demonstrated improved speed and utilized his ability to escape pressure effectively.

Young showed growth compared to his performances in the first two weeks before being benched, standing tall in the pocket and absorbing big hits. He drew two roughing penalties on completions of over 25 yards and displayed quicker decision-making and better accuracy. While there are still areas to improve, Canales highlighted some positive developments.
