Jefferson, 32, initially signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent from Oklahoma in 2013. He completed his rookie contract with Arizona before signing a four-year, $34 million deal with $19 million guaranteed with the Ravens in 2017.

Jefferson was set to earn a $7 million base salary in 2020 but was released by the Ravens during the offseason. He later signed with the 49ers in June 2021, but after landing on injured reserve, he was released via settlement.

Jefferson rejoined the Ravens on their practice squad, eventually moving on and off the roster before returning for the 2022 season. He then signed with the Giants’ practice squad.

After a brief stint working as a scout for the Ravens, Jefferson came out of retirement and joined the Chargers in June 2024. He impressed during the preseason but was initially cut, only to rejoin the practice squad.

In 2022, Jefferson appeared in nine games for the Giants, making one start, and recorded 23 tackles and one pass deflection.
