According to a report from On3 Sports, Micah Williams, a junior and national champion sprinter representing the Oregon Ducks, is poised to enter the transfer portal. Williams, who clinched the NCAA indoor title in the 60-meter dash in 2021 and ended that season with the third-fastest time globally, is anticipated to depart Eugene this spring. Additionally, he joined the Oregon football program as a wide receiver last autumn, although he did not see any game time. His accolades include winning his second consecutive 100-meter Pac-12 title during the 2023 outdoor season. Williams holds the UO school record for the 60-meter dash at 6.48 seconds, placing him seventh all-time in the collegiate ranks. Furthermore, he secured the gold medal at the 2018 U-20 World Championships in the 4×100 relay. Originating from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Williams was a three-time Gatorade track and field runner of the year for the Techsters.
