Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class has dropped to 22 commitments following the de-commitment of four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett from Prince Avenue Christian in Bogart, Georgia. Garrett, who is 6’3.5″ and 285 pounds, had initially committed to Georgia on June 9, choosing the Bulldogs over Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and 21 other offers. His departure leaves Georgia with just two defensive line commitments in the 2025 cycle: Stephon Shivers from Humboldt, Tennessee, and JJ Hanne from Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This change has also resulted in Georgia’s recruiting class ranking falling to No. 4 in the 247Sports Team Class Rankings. Garrett is ranked as the No. 189 overall prospect nationally, the No. 23 defensive lineman, and the No. 29 overall recruit in Georgia according to 247Sports.
Just days prior to his de-commitment, Garrett had spoken positively about his commitment to Georgia, emphasizing his loyalty to the program and his role in recruiting other top in-state defensive linemen like Justus Terry and Elijah Griffin. Garrett, along with these other recruits, had been focused on representing their home state by committing to Georgia. He had been particularly vocal about the importance of in-state players staying home to “put on for the G.”
