Just In: Penn State Adds Top Talent to 2025 Roster After Dynamic Visit Weekend

June 18, 2024

Penn State utilized its third official visit weekend of the summer to host many of its already-committed 2025 recruits, while also leaving room for a few high-priority targets. This strategy has proven successful.

Class of 2025 cornerback Jahmir Joseph announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Monday shortly after concluding his official visit. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 172 pounds, Joseph is a four-star recruit and the fifth-ranked player in New Jersey according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is expected to remain at cornerback upon his enrollment.

Joseph is the third defensive back to commit to Penn State’s 2025 class, joining Pittsburgh Central Catholic’s Xxavier Thomas and Mater Dei’s (Ca.) Daryus Dixson, the top prospect of the group. His commitment boosts him to the position of the fifth-highest-rated recruit in a class that was ranked 13th nationally before his announcement.

Prior to his visit to Happy Valley this weekend, Joseph had taken official visits to Stanford and Notre Dame earlier in the summer. He had also planned to visit South Carolina next weekend before deciding on Penn State. Joseph ultimately chose the Nittany Lions over offers from notable programs such as Georgia and Boston College.

Quarterback Bekkem Kritza and running back Alvin Henderson were among the 13 committed recruits present at Penn State’s weekend event, with a total of 17 prospects attending. High four-star tight end Andrew Olesh was a key uncommitted target among them.

Joseph’s commitment marks the second consecutive weekend in which Penn State secured a commitment from an official visitor, following Dixson’s commitment the previous Monday.
