“Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Score Major Signing: NRL Veteran Joins Squad!”

May 11, 2024

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are thrilled to announce the acquisition of seasoned forward, Zane Tetevano. At 33 years old, Tetevano returns to the NRL on a one-year contract with the Club, with General Manager of Football Phil Gould extending a warm welcome to him at Belmore today, stating, “Zane is a highly esteemed senior player whose leadership and work ethic will greatly benefit our team.”

Beginning his career at the Newcastle Knights, Tetevano made the journey from New Zealand as a teenager to join their development program. His NRL debut came in 2011 with the Knights, followed by three successful seasons at the Roosters, including a memorable Grand Final victory in 2018. He then embarked on a two-year stint with Penrith before a brief spell with the Leeds Rhinos. Throughout his NRL journey, Tetevano has amassed over 120 appearances.

On the international stage, Tetevano has proudly represented the Cook Islands on ten occasions and earned three Test caps for New Zealand.

Following his release from Leeds last year due to medical reasons, Tetevano has successfully passed a fitness assessment to seal the deal with Canterbury. The new addition wasted no time and commenced training with the Bulldogs squad earlier today, eager to make his mark on the team.
