“Kentucky Reaches Out to Cincinnati Transfer!”

April 9, 2025

The Kentucky Wildcats are working hard to build one of the most competitive rosters possible, and they’re making significant strides in the transfer portal.

With Mark Pope securing his first 5-star recruit, Jasper Johnson, Kentucky was already set for an impressive lineup next season. However, they’ve continued to add top-tier talent to their roster.

The Wildcats initially landed Kam Williams from Tulane and later received commitments from Pitt’s Jaland Lowe. More recently, they bolstered their frontcourt with Alabama’s Mouhamed Dioubate and Arizona State’s Jayden Quaintance.

Now, Kentucky has reached out to Cincinnati guard Dan Skillings Jr. According to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jacob Polacheck, the Wildcats have contacted the New Jersey native.

Skillings has spent all three of his college seasons at Cincinnati, playing a key role in the program’s transition from the AAC to the Big 12. He showed steady improvement each year, averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a junior, while shooting 44% from the field and 29.9% from three-point range.

A top-100 recruit in the Class of 2022, Skillings hails from Blackwood, New Jersey. The 6-foot-6 guard would provide Pope with added size on the wing, though Kentucky is also targeting bigger prospects like Jaron Pierre and Wesley Yates. Skillings could be a player to keep an eye on if other options don’t materialize.
