Seahawks rival QB expected to land massive 2025 season

February 12, 2025

The Seattle Seahawks face Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers twice every season, and this trend is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

49ers owner Jed York shared with reporters that discussions will take place regarding a potential extension for Purdy during the upcoming offseason.

“We want Brock to be here for the long haul, and we’ll do everything we can to make that happen,” York said, per Sports Illustrated’s Mike McDaniel. “Brock is an incredible person, and I’m looking forward to a long-term partnership.”

Purdy, 25, has faced the Seahawks more than any other team in his career, and Seattle is the team he’s had the most success against.

In five matchups with the Seahawks, Purdy has led the 49ers to a 4-1 record, completing 96 of 139 passes for 1,208 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also has a rushing touchdown against Seattle.

This doesn’t include his victory over the Seahawks in the Divisional Round two years ago, the last time Seattle made the playoffs.

With the 49ers looking to make Purdy their franchise quarterback, the Seahawks will have several opportunities to get past him in the postseason. As San Francisco takes steps back, it may open the door for Seattle to advance and challenge for dominance in the NFC West.
