Kenny Darby, a wide receiver from Bossier City (La.) Airline, continues to climb the ranks as a top prospect in the 2026 Recruiting Class, with some of the nation’s best programs actively recruiting him.
Darby, who was once committed to Mississippi State, received an offer from LSU head coach Brian Kelly in November and quickly committed to the Tigers. Known as one of the top players in Louisiana last season, Darby has since earned offers from several prestigious programs, including Miami, Florida State, and Tennessee.
After receiving an offer from his dream school, LSU, the standout wide receiver made his decision: he’s now officially an LSU Tiger.
Ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect in Louisiana, Darby has impressive potential for the future. The 6-foot-1, 178-pound athlete has been on LSU’s radar throughout the season. His scholarship offer came just before LSU’s November game against Alabama during a visit to Baton Rouge.
Darby had a phenomenal junior season, recording 100 receptions for 1,754 yards and 24 touchdowns, putting him on the map as a national recruit. As he moves past his junior year, Darby is focusing on his recruitment, with visits to LSU, Alabama, and Tennessee already planned for the spring.
He recently visited Baton Rouge to meet with Kelly and the Tigers, and while he remains committed to LSU, other programs are still vying for his attention. Darby told LSU Tigers On SI that he’ll visit Alabama this weekend to connect with coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff, and before the visit, Alabama extended a verbal offer to Darby, making waves in his recruitment.
Darby will also visit Tennessee in March, staying with the Volunteers from March 11-13. As his recruitment heats up, LSU will have to fend off top programs for the talented Louisiana native.
