According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, the Bengals are scheduled to meet with Al Golden on Wednesday regarding their defensive coordinator position.
This will allow Golden time to conclude his duties at Notre Dame, where he helped lead the team to the National Championship Game. The Fighting Irish were defeated by Ohio State 34-23.
Golden is not only the leading candidate for the Bengals’ defensive coordinator role, but it would be surprising if he isn’t hired at this stage.
It’s highly likely that the Bengals will meet with Golden, finalize any remaining contract details, and proceed with the hire.
