The Wisconsin Badgers are set to hire Jordan Reid, the wide receivers coach from Western Michigan, to fill the final opening on their coaching staff. Reid, who had a successful playing career as a wide receiver at Ohio University, is making the move to Wisconsin after spending two years at Western Michigan under head coach Lance Taylor.
Reid’s coaching journey began at his alma mater, Ohio, where he spent a season before transitioning to a quality control and offensive assistant role at Wake Forest. After two years there, he joined Western Michigan, where he served as wide receivers coach for the past two seasons. Now, he is making a significant leap to the Big Ten, taking on a new challenge with the Badgers.
This change follows the decision by Wisconsin to promote wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton to the vacant quarterbacks coach position. Guiton will now work with the quarterbacks, a position he played during his time at Ohio State.
Reid’s hiring marks the second major outside addition to the Badgers’ coaching staff in 2024, following the recruitment of Jeff Grimes, who was brought in as the offensive coordinator after previously holding the same position at Kansas.
One of Reid’s key responsibilities will be to continue Wisconsin’s efforts in recruiting top-tier wide receivers for the 2026 class. The Badgers are heavily targeting several standout wideouts, aiming to secure multiple commitments after only securing one wide receiver for the 2025 class. Reid will be instrumental in helping Wisconsin strengthen its wide receiver corps and bring in fresh talent for the program’s future.
