Kentucky Wildcats defensive back Jordan Lovett has landed in off-field trouble following his arrest in Nelson County this week. According to The Herald-Leader’s Jon Hale, Lovett was caught driving 120 MPH and faces charges for speeding (at least 26 mph over the limit), reckless driving, and failing to provide an insurance card. He was also charged with marijuana possession.
A UK spokesperson confirmed that the football team will address the situation internally.
Lovett, who hails from Radcliff, is expected to be a key player in Kentucky’s secondary for the upcoming season. Last year, he recorded 63 tackles and two interceptions.
Additionally, Hale reports that wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who is transferring to Nebraska, was charged with misdemeanor assault on December 7th after allegedly punching someone at a storage unit in downtown Lexington. This news follows Gilmore’s commitment to the Cornhuskers.
