“Brewers Reportedly Ink Blockbuster Deal with White Sox, Acquiring All-Star Pitcher to Bolster Rotation”

December 10, 2024

The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to strengthen their pitching staff and it appears they might be eyeing one of the more promising pitchers potentially available this offseason.

Milwaukee is set to be a team worth watching as the offseason unfolds. Despite the loss of manager Craig Counsell and the trade of ace Corbin Burnes before the 2024 season, the Brewers exceeded expectations, winning 93 games and securing the top spot in the National League Central.

Although the Brewers have already seen star shortstop Willy Adames depart this offseason, there are still plenty of reasons for fans to remain optimistic. With a roster brimming with talented, young players, the Brewers could be in strong shape if they manage to make a few more strategic additions. Strengthening the starting rotation could be a key move, and reports indicate that Milwaukee has expressed interest in Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet, according to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi.

“The Brewers are among the teams still engaged with the White Sox on Garrett Crochet, sources say,” Morosi shared.

At just 25 years old, Crochet is considered one of the more intriguing names on the trade market. His name has surfaced in trade rumors since the deadline, and it now appears likely that he could be moved this offseason.

Acquiring a pitcher like Crochet would allow the Brewers to add an ace-level arm to their rotation without significantly increasing payroll, making it an appealing option for the team.
