The Chicago Bears will be short-handed at safety for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, as backup safety Elijah Hicks has been ruled out due to an ankle injury. Hicks had been filling in for Jaquan Brisker, who is on injured reserve, so the Bears are expected to turn to Jonathan Owens as the next man up on the depth chart. Tarvarius Moore is also available to play safety.
In addition to Hicks, guard Ryan Bates will miss the game due to a concussion.
Wide receiver Keenan Allen, who had been practicing all week, was added to the injury report on Friday with an ankle issue and is now listed as questionable after a limited practice.
The Bears received some positive news, however, as running back D’Andre Swift participated in a full practice on Friday after dealing with a groin injury, and he is also listed as questionable. Guard Teven Jenkins, who had been sidelined with an ankle injury, was removed from the injury report after practicing fully for the second consecutive day.
Reserve tackle Kiran Amegadjie (calf) is questionable after a limited practice on Friday, having missed practice earlier in the week.
