The Auburn Tigers have been actively pursuing a quarterback for their 2025 recruiting class, and they’ve now secured a major commitment. Not only did Auburn manage to land a signal-caller, but they also added one of the top prospects in the class.
Deuce Knight, who was previously committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, officially flipped his commitment to Auburn on Wednesday night. A native of Lucedale, Mississippi, Knight has been a frequent visitor to Auburn throughout the season. He attends George County High School and is regarded as one of the premier quarterbacks in the nation. ESPN and Rivals rank him as the No. 2 quarterback, while 247Sports ranks him at No. 5.
Knight’s decision to join Auburn over other powerhouse programs like Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas A&M marks a significant win for the Tigers. He becomes the 25th player to commit to Auburn’s 2025 class, which now ranks No. 3 nationally according to 247Sports and No. 4 by On3.
This high-profile commitment could also influence other top prospects to follow, including five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, who is currently committed to Alabama. Knight’s unique skill set and potential have scouts excited, particularly 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins, who describes him as a left-handed, dual-threat quarterback with elite physical attributes. Knight stands at 6’4.5″ and 195 pounds, with impressive athletic testing numbers, including a 4.53-second 40-yard dash and a 41.9-inch vertical jump.
The addition of Knight sets Auburn up for a promising future and bolsters their chances of attracting even more elite talent.
