The Indianapolis Colts released their Wednesday practice report, revealing that three starters did not participate. Cornerback Chris Lammons sat out with a knee/ankle injury, following his 2024 debut against the Chicago Bears where he recorded 3 tackles. While not a star player, the Colts can ill afford to lose more depth in their secondary. More concerning, however, are the injuries to key players like starting cornerback Kenny Moore II (hip), defensive end Kwity Paye (quadriceps), and offensive tackle Braden Smith (knee). Defensive end Tyquan Lewis (calf/wrist) and linebacker Grant Stuard (heel) were both full participants.

The injuries to Moore, Paye, and Smith will be crucial to watch as the week progresses.
Meanwhile, the Colts’ week four opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, also have a lengthy injury list. Though QB Russell Wilson fully participated, coach Mike Tomlin is likely to start Justin Fields on Sunday. Running back Jaylen Warren (knee) did not practice, and starting offensive guard Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) was limited. Linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin) is expected to miss several weeks, which could provide the Colts with opportunities to exploit Pittsburgh’s game plan.
The Colts aim to even their record at 2-2 with a key home victory over the Steelers on Sunday. The marquee matchup will likely be rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson going up against Pittsburgh’s top-ranked defense, which leads the NFL in yards allowed per game (229.0). The action kicks off at 1 pm on September 29th at Lucas Oil Stadium.
