The Atlanta Braves are quickly slipping out of the NL Wild Card race after losing three consecutive games. They now trail the Mets by two games for the final Wild Card spot and are running out of time to regain momentum.
The silver lining is that the Braves still have three games left to play against the Mets at Truist Park. Adding to the hope, star second baseman Ozzie Albies could be back in action for that crucial series. Albies began his rehab stint with the Gwinnett Stripers on Tuesday, making an impact with a three-run homer and finishing the game 2-for-3 with a homer, single, and walk.

With recent losses, especially blowing a four-run lead in last night’s game, it’s hard for Braves fans to feel optimistic. A two-game gap in the Wild Card race seems insurmountable given how inconsistent the team has been all season, taking one step forward and two steps back.
Manager Brian Snitker is hopeful Albies could return to the lineup as early as Friday against the Marlins, but his impact might come too late to turn the Braves’ season around.
