Here’s the complete injury report for Thursday’s practice:

Cardinals duo stars to miss the next game

  • WR Xavier Weaver (oblique)

S Joey Blount (back).

Blount has been added to Thursday’s list of non-participants alongside Weaver due to a back injury. Since he wasn’t mentioned in Wednesday’s injury report, this could be a new development. As a reserve safety and special teamer, Blount’s absence would primarily affect the kicking game, especially with starters Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson healthy.

Meanwhile, Weaver’s consecutive days of not practicing cast doubt on his availability for Sunday. If he’s unable to play, running back Deejay Dallas would likely take over as the Cardinals’ primary kickoff and punt returner.

Limited Participation Cardinals

  • TE Tip Reiman (ankle

Reiman was once again listed as a limited participant for the second consecutive day. His status will likely influence how the Cardinals manage their tight end rotation, which includes Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins. McBride functions more as a traditional in-line tight end, while Higgins is more of a big-receiver type who can play in various positions. Reiman, on the other hand, is primarily a blocking tight end in multiple tight end sets. With the Cardinals needing a strong run game to compete against the Bills, Reiman is a key under-the-radar player to watch.

The Cardinals did not have any players listed as “full participants,” but it’s safe to assume that no news is good news for the 50 players not mentioned in the injury report. Despite a few significant injuries on the defensive front, the team is entering their season opener in relatively good health.
