Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has secured a significant opportunity for his name, image, and likeness (NIL). The third-year player announced via Instagram on Monday that he has entered a multi-year NIL agreement with Harbin Motors, a new Ford and Chevrolet dealership in Northwest Alabama. As part of the deal, Simpson will receive a new Ford or Chevrolet truck every few months in exchange for promoting the dealership.
Simpson, a former five-star recruit in Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class, showed promise during the 2023 season. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 179 yards and recorded a rushing touchdown, contributing to the Crimson Tide’s victory over Georgia to clinch the Southeastern Conference Championship and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.
A native of Martin, Tennessee, Simpson had an impressive spring and is currently the immediate backup to Jalen Milroe at quarterback. He aims to help head coach Kalen DeBoer lead Alabama to more titles in Tuscaloosa. This partnership with Harbin Motors marks a significant milestone in Simpson’s burgeoning college career, showcasing the increasing impact of NIL opportunities for student-athletes.
