Auburn football has bolstered its roster with the late addition of defensive back Jahquez Robinson, who transferred from Colorado over the weekend. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Robinson started his college career at Alabama, where he spent three seasons before moving to Colorado for the previous season.
Robinson, a 4-star recruit and the 21st-ranked cornerback in the 2020 class, was initially recruited to Alabama by then-associate defensive coordinator Charles Kelly. He followed Kelly to Colorado and will now rejoin him at Auburn, donning the orange and blue on the Plains. Last season at Colorado, Robinson tallied eight tackles and an interception. He brings two remaining years of eligibility to Auburn, where he’ll add depth to a secondary that has experienced significant turnover.
The Tigers also secured a commitment from 4-star running back Alvin Henderson this weekend. Henderson, who previously committed to Penn State in April, was persistently pursued by Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff. Impressed by Auburn’s unwavering recruitment, Henderson has finalized his decision to join the Tigers and is now actively recruiting others to join him.
Henderson aims to bring in top talent such as defensive backs Blake Woodby and Anquon Fegans, along with 4-star linebacker Elijah Menendez, currently committed to Miami. He expressed a strong bond with Menendez from his own recruitment process. With Henderson’s commitment, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class has grown to 16 members and is ranked 5th overall by 247 Sports.
“We in-state guys are going to take care of Auburn ourselves,” Henderson said, emphasizing his goal of attracting other committed or considering players to the Plains.
