Matt Zollers is the latest high school quarterback to join an elite group of recruits signing NIL deals. The Missouri commit, a five-star quarterback according to the On3 Industry Ranking, has now inked a deal with Leaf Trading Cards. The No. 31 overall prospect will be featured in upcoming card releases.
This trading card agreement follows Zollers’ recent NIL deal with Westwood Home Services, which granted him a Dodge Challenger in exchange for commercial appearances and social media promotions during his final months at Spring-Ford High School.
The 6-foot-3.5, 203-pound quarterback will have his own trading card and joins other high-profile recruits like USC commit Julian Lewis, Florida’s DJ Lagway, Tennessee commit George MacIntyre, and 2027’s Peyton Houston in having deals with Leaf. Details of Zollers’ contract with Leaf have not been disclosed.
Represented in NIL by Aurum Sports’ agent Joe Gazza, Zollers is taking advantage of Pennsylvania’s policy allowing high school athletes to engage in NIL activities. As the top-ranked recruit in Pennsylvania, he is expanding his NIL portfolio before even arriving at Mizzou.
Committed to Missouri since April, Zollers remains in touch with Pitt and Penn State but is focused on the Tigers. He’s set to compete at the Elite 11 Finals and is the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 class. On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power praised his Elite 11 Regionals performance, noting Zollers’ impressive arm strength and agility.
Zollers attended the On3 Elite Series last month, a seminar for top 2025 high school football recruits on NIL, entrepreneurship, and life after football. As a junior, he set a school record with 2,917 passing yards and 37 touchdowns to just two interceptions in 2023. Missouri outcompeted Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, and Pittsburgh for his commitment, with Zollers citing strong relationships at Mizzou as the key factor.
“It was definitely the connections,” Zollers told On3’s Blue and White Illustrated. “I just clicked differently with the coaching staff and the players, as well as the recruits. It’s where I felt most comfortable. The connections were my No. 1 thing, and I fell back on that.”
