Just In: Atlanta Falcons Inks Multi Million Dollar Deal With Pro Cornerback

June 12, 2024

The Atlanta Falcons made a strategic move on Tuesday, announcing the signing of cornerback Harrison Hand to their roster. In a corresponding decision, cornerback Anthony Sao was waived, marking a shift in the team’s defensive lineup. Sao, initially signed as one of three undrafted free agent corners in April, now makes way for Hand’s arrival.

Hand brings a wealth of experience to the Falcons, having entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 draft, following his collegiate career at Temple University. During his two seasons with the Vikings, Hand showcased his skills in 23 games before making the transition to the Chicago Bears.

Although Hand’s tenure with the Bears saw limited action in the 2022 season, with appearances in just four games and one start, his track record demonstrates potential for impact on the field. Over three seasons in the league, Hand has participated in 27 games, earning two starts. His defensive contributions include 24 tackles, four pass breakups, and a notable interception against Saints quarterback Drew Brees in 2020.

The addition of Hand bolsters the Falcons’ defensive roster and provides valuable depth in the secondary. As the team continues its preparations for the upcoming season, Hand’s arrival brings anticipation for his potential contributions on the field.

This move underscores the Falcons’ commitment to refining their roster ahead of the season, strategically positioning themselves for success as they aim to make an impact in the league.
