Auburn entered the 2025 recruiting cycle with a major focus on strengthening their offensive line and aimed to bring in a sizable class. Offensive line coach Jake Thornton, having secured three solid recruits in 2024, sought to bolster the lineup further this year. One of their top targets was offensive tackle Broderick Shull from Bixby, Oklahoma.
Following his official visit last weekend, Shull committed to Auburn on Friday, opting to end his recruitment process. This decision came after visiting Nebraska and canceling his planned June visits to Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Shull is ranked by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the No. 192 player nationally, the No. 20 offensive tackle, and the No. 6 player from Oklahoma. In 247Sports’ specific rankings, Shull is listed as the No. 30 offensive tackle and the No. 9 player from Oklahoma. For Auburn and coach Thornton, Shull was a priority target.
“After my official visit, it was clear that this was the place for me,” Shull said. “Experiencing the campus vibe, seeing everyone again, and meeting the players off campus was crucial. They’re responsible, mature guys who fit me well.”
With Shull’s commitment, Auburn now has five offensive line recruits for the 2025 cycle, joining Top247 offensive tackles Tavaris Dice and Carde Smith, 3-star offensive tackle Spencer Dowland, and 3-star interior lineman Tai Buster. Shull’s commitment also marks Auburn’s second in as many days, following 4-star cornerback Donovan Starr’s commitment on Thursday. Auburn’s recruiting class has now reached 13 commitments, placing them at No. 9 in the 247Sports team rankings.
