Thaddeus Moss, CFL player and son of NFL legend Randy Moss, announces retirement from football at age 25.Following his release from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, tight end Thaddeus Moss has made the decision to step away from the game, citing the importance of recognizing when one chapter ends. In a statement, Moss expressed gratitude for his football journey and emphasized the significance of moving forward from past experiences.
Moss’s football career began with the North Carolina State Wolfpack before transferring to LSU, where he played a pivotal role in the Tigers’ 2019 National Championship victory. During his lone season at LSU, Moss showcased his talents with 47 receptions, 570 yards, and four touchdowns, three of which came during the College Football Playoff, solidifying his place in LSU football history.
Despite his collegiate success, Moss faced challenges transitioning to the NFL. After signing with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent, injuries hampered his progress, leading to his eventual release. A brief stint with the Cincinnati Bengals followed, but Moss continued to struggle with injuries, preventing him from making his NFL debut.
Moss found success in the USFL, winning the 2023 championship with the Birmingham Stallions. However, he opted not to continue with the team when it transitioned to the UFL for the 2024 season.
While Moss’s football journey may have come to an end, his impact on the game and his resilience in the face of adversity will be remembered. As he closes this chapter of his life, Moss looks ahead to new opportunities and endeavors beyond the gridiron.
