Collingwood Ahead of the Supplemental Selection Period deadline, Collingwood has finalized their roster by filling all three free list spots. The Magpies have extended AFL list spots to Footscray midfielder Lachie Sullivan, former St Kilda onballer Jack Bytel, and ex-Essendon tall Joshua Eyre, following their successful training stints.
This trio, who trained with the reigning premiers over the summer, showcased their skills during the Magpies’ recent intra-club session. Sullivan, particularly impressive in midfield, secured his spot with standout performances, building on his strong preseason in black and white.
Sullivan, a VFL standout, has consistently demonstrated his prowess, earning accolades such as the J.J. Liston Trophy and Team of the Year honors since 2022. Bytel and Eyre, despite challenges including injury setbacks, have also earned their places in the squad, demonstrating resilience and talent during training.
Collingwood Football Boss Graham Wright expressed satisfaction with the final selections, noting the complement these players bring to the squad. While Eyre faces a brief period on the sidelines due to injury, the Magpies have confidence in his abilities and contributions to the team environment.
With their roster now complete, Collingwood looks ahead to practice matches against North Melbourne and Richmond before their highly anticipated Opening Round clash with GWS at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 9.
