Missouri football strengthened its defensive lineup on Wednesday with two significant transfers. First, Michigan linebacker Jeremiah Beasley committed, according to a report by On3’s Hayes Fawcett, which Beasley later shared on his Instagram account. Then, shortly after, Georgia Tech defensive tackle Eddie Kelly announced his move to the Tigers via his X account.
Beasley and Kelly mark the second and third acquisitions for Missouri during the spring transfer portal window, following SMU offensive tackle Marcus Bryant.
Beasley, a Class of 2024 member, enrolled at Michigan in December but was not part of their 2023 championship campaign. Rated as a consensus four-star prospect, he stands at 6 feet 1 inch, weighing 230 pounds. His decision to join Missouri adds depth to their linebacker corps, where they had previously lacked numbers. Beasley had garnered attention from numerous power conference teams during his high school recruitment, including an official visit to Columbia last June.
Meanwhile, Kelly, originally recruited by USF, spent one season at Georgia Tech, appearing in 13 games and starting five. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 278 pounds, he brings both size and experience to Missouri’s defensive tackle position, which saw significant turnover due to eligibility and draft declarations.
The additions of Beasley and Kelly bolster Missouri’s defense, providing much-needed depth and talent as they prepare for the upcoming season.
