The No. 3 point guard in the country spent his first three seasons at Baker High School in Alabama before transferring to Link Academy in Missouri for his senior year. Standing at 6-foot-4, Philon had an outstanding junior season, earning accolades such as Alabama’s Mr. Basketball, Alabama basketball Gatorade Player of the Year, and MaxPreps Alabama High School Basketball Player of the Year in 2023. Philon boasted impressive statistics, averaging 35 points and six rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field.
During his senior season in the Nike EYBL Scholastic League with Link Academy, Philon continued to impress, averaging 11.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. He maintained an impressive shooting percentage of 53.6% from the field and 44.1% from beyond the arc. 247Sports’ Travis Branham described Philon as a “tough and dynamic two-way guard” known for his disruptive defense and effective scoring abilities.https://www.highcpmgate.com/huweqnyxks?key=02ff0bf01860d124fb976c01a6663a4a
Ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 32 player in the 2024 class, Philon joins an already talented group of high school signees at Alabama, including five-stars Derrion Reid (No. 3 PF), Aiden Sherrell (No. 7 C), and four-star Naas Cunningham (No. 11 SF). Additionally, Alabama has added three transfers, including former Auburn guard Aden Holloway, who was ranked as the No. 3 point guard in the 2023 class.
With these impressive additions, Alabama’s recruiting class ranks among the top in the nation. Philon’s commitment elevates Alabama to the No. 2 spot in high school recruiting rankings, trailing only Duke.https://www.highcpmgate.com/huweqnyxks?key=02ff0bf01860d124fb976c01a6663a4a
