The Dolphins have already signed Aaron Brewer as a potential replacement for Connor Williams, but they’re still eyeing additional center depth in the upcoming draft. Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson visited the Dolphins this week, having earned accolades like a first-team All-American nod and the Rimington Trophy for his stellar performance in 2023, where he didn’t allow any sacks in over 800 snaps. Although Powers-Johnson is projected to be drafted within the first two days, possibly even as high as No. 21 to the Dolphins, there’s still a possibility of Williams returning to Miami. However, with Williams potentially sitting out the 2024 season due to an ACL injury, Brewer is set to fill the void at center. Interestingly, both Brewer and Powers-Johnson have experience playing offensive guard, suggesting the Dolphins won’t necessarily create a competition at center. It’s evident that the Dolphins are prioritizing offensive line depth in the first round of the draft, having hosted several late first-round offensive linemen. GM Chris Grier has ruled out selecting a quarterback with their first-round pick, indicating a focus on securing a long-term deal with Tua Tagovailoa. However, Grier hasn’t ruled out the possibility of drafting a quarterback later on.
