“Bombers Unveil Marvel Stadium Spectacular: 21st Annual Charity Event in Support of Cancer Awareness”

April 18, 2024

The annual event, in collaboration with official charity partner Challenge, is set to take place at Marvel Stadium. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Bombers’ partnership with Challenge, which originated in support of 2000 Premiership player and cancer survivor Adam Ramanauskas. The Bombers will proudly sport the Challenge logo on the front of their guernseys, accompanied by a yellow armband. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase player-issued guernseys, with proceeds directed towards Challenge.

In conjunction with the club’s charity partner Challenge and with the support of official partner Yakult, the Bombers will raise both funds and awareness to aid children and their families affected by cancer. The club aims to combat cancer’s impact through its initiatives.

Challenge, a non-profit organization, offers ongoing support to children and families grappling with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Ahead of the game, selected Bombers players will have their boots painted by Challenge children, which will then be worn during the match and made available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting Challenge.

Furthermore, the Challenge children will have the honor of accompanying Essendon’s players onto the field during the game against the Giants, symbolizing the club’s commitment to supporting those affected by cancer.
