Canterbury Bulldogs’ director of football has hinted at the club’s intention to extend the contract of recently acquired forward Josh Curran. “From the first time I saw Josh Curran play, he looks like a Bulldog to me,” Gould wrote, dropping a cryptic clue about Curran’s future with the team.
Amidst pressure on the director of football and head coach Cameron Ciraldo following a slow start to the season, the Bulldogs found relief with a surprise victory over the Sydney Roosters last Friday. Despite the challenges, attention is now turning to securing Curran’s services beyond his current contract, which expires at the end of 2025.
At 24 years old, Curran has made a notable impact in his five appearances for the Bulldogs. Impressively, he boasts a tackle completion rate of almost 95% and averages 113 meters per game. His versatility, able to play on the edge or in the middle, has been evident, with three of his five games seeing him play over 60 minutes. As negotiations loom, Curran appears to be a key priority for the Bulldogs’ management.
