Over the past six weeks, Wests Tigers has welcomed 1,139 new paying members to the club as part of our goal to reach 10,000 paid-up members in 2024. This new target was set after deciding to count only supporters who contribute financially, excluding over 9,000 junior players from the total membership count.
Since implementing this new target, there has been a steady increase in paid memberships, with an additional 1,139 new members joining the ranks. According to new CEO Shane Richardson, membership is about becoming part of the family, whether or not you attend games.
“We’ve previously included 9,000 juniors who don’t contribute financially, resulting in no income for the club, and we’ve been reporting 20,000 members,” Richardson explained. “We want to be transparent about our membership numbers because we value your support and want you to become a member of our club, regardless of your level of involvement.”
