Amid speculation that the New York Giants are eyeing a top-four quarterback in this year’s draft, the Minnesota Vikings have intensified their pursuit.
According to ESPN’s Giants beat reporter Jordan Raanan on April 7, there’s a growing likelihood that four of the top five picks will be quarterbacks. The Vikings, who own the No. 11 pick, have made it known within league circles that they are serious about securing one of the top quarterbacks available.
The Giants have expressed interest in LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, and North Carolina’s Drake Maye. If their preferred quarterback slips past the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 pick, the Giants may consider trading up from their No. 6 spot in the draft.
Potential trade partners for the Giants include the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals, who hold the No. 3 and No. 4 picks, respectively. Both teams could be open to trading back for a team eager to select the third or fourth quarterback in this year’s draft class.
Following a 7-10 season, the Vikings acquired the No. 23 pick in a trade with the Houston Texans, giving them leverage to offer a compelling trade package, potentially including two first-round picks in this year’s draft.
