The Minnesota Vikings missed the opportunity to observe LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels at his pro day, possibly aiming to gain more insights through a private workout with him, considering him a top-three pick prospect.
However, the Vikings encountered challenges in arranging a private meeting with Daniels due to skepticism from his representation. According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson, Daniels’ camp doubts the Vikings’ ability to move up to the top three picks to draft him.
Despite this, the Vikings remain keen on connecting with Daniels. They have adopted an unconventional scouting approach this year, with Kevin O’Connell opting out of attending pro days and instead focusing on extensive private meetings with prospects.
As the draft approaches, O’Connell has yet to witness Daniels throw in person, leading to uncertainties about their ability to secure him. Nevertheless, the Vikings are eager to demonstrate their strong interest and willingness to thoroughly evaluate Daniels as a potential addition to their team.
