On Tuesday, the New York Rangers revealed they had reached an agreement with forward Kalle Vaisanen for a three-year, entry-level contract. Originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Vaisanen showcased his skills during the 2023-24 regular season with TPS of Finland’s Lilga, tallying nine goals and five assists in 58 regular-season games, along with four points in nine playoff games.
Throughout his tenure with TPS spanning three seasons, Vaisanen recorded a total of 14 goals and 10 assists, accumulating 24 points across 137 games. His development also saw him spend time with TPS’ under-20 team, where he notched 17 goals and 33 assists, totaling 50 points in 45 games. Standing tall at 6-foot-4, Vaisanen has proudly represented Finland in multiple World Junior Championships, notably earning recognition as a top-3 player on the team in 2023 and contributing to Finland’s silver medal win in 2022.
