Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox are scheduled to participate in the Philadelphia Phillies’ first-pitch ceremony for the upcoming game against the Atlanta Braves.
However, don’t anticipate seeing the recently retired Eagles center showcasing his pitching skills. Kelce informed fans that he won’t be throwing a pitch at all, leaving that task to Cox.
Why?
Kelce clarified, stating, “(Fletcher Cox) is going to have to throw it because my elbow doesn’t work.” It’s understandable that after 13 years as one of the NFL’s top centers, Kelce may have some physical issues, and hopefully, his elbow can be addressed in the future. Nevertheless, fans seized upon his statement.
“Unretire and you won’t have to do it until next year,” one person suggested.
Another commented, “‘He said ‘my elbow doesn’t work’ like it’s raining outside.’ Hey man. Wanna throw the first pitch? Eh. My elbow doesn’t work. My henchmen can throw though. Like it’s not a big deal.”
Despite the playful banter, fans are excited to see the Philly legends, Kelce and Cox, participating in the ceremony. Their presence is sure to be a hit with the fans.
