Evgeni Malkin has achieved the milestone of scoring 20 goals in a season for the 15th time in his illustrious career.
Last night, Malkin netted two goals during a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jackets, a game where his parents were in attendance in Pittsburgh for the first time in several years. Following the game, Malkin shared his emotions about having his parents present, noting that their presence likely added to his motivation for the game.

“They came yesterday,” Malkin revealed. “They haven’t been here since I think 2018 or 2019. You know, it’s been a long time.”
Expressing some humor, Malkin added, “I’m so mad they did not come in October or November. They wanted to watch a live game finally, but I know they watch every game from the Internet. They wake up at 3 AM in my hometown, and they watch every game; they know everything.”
With his 20 goals this season, Malkin has now joined an elite group, becoming just the 31st player in NHL history to achieve this milestone on 15 or more occasions.
