Brock Bowers is uncertain about his performance as his position group prepares for NFL Combine workouts on Friday.
However, despite the uncertainty on the field, he’s been keeping busy off it. The Georgia tight end has been engaged in numerous interviews, including with the Broncos.
This week, Bowers met with Denver, among approximately 15 other teams.
Reflecting on the meeting with the Broncos, Bowers expressed optimism, stating, “I thought it went well.” He added, “I’d be excited.” Bowers had an impressive season for Georgia, amassing 714 yards and 6 touchdowns on 56 catches, showcasing his versatility in their passing game. Additionally, he’s known for his willingness to block, although most of his contributions come in open space.
Bowers is highly regarded for his skills, making him a top prospect expected to be selected early in the draft. Tight end positions hold significant value in modern offenses, particularly due to the challenge of finding linebackers capable of covering elite tight ends effectively.
Regarding the increasing importance of tight ends in offenses, Bowers remarked, “Tight end is a prime position to be in right now. I’m just glad it’s now.”
When it comes to speaking to the media, Bowers admitted it’s not his favorite aspect, but acknowledges its necessity. Despite his reserved demeanor during press conferences, his focus remains on improving, stating, “I feel like I’ve gotten better at it since I started my freshman year at Georgia.”
However, teams like the Broncos are more interested in Bowers’ on-field performance than his media presence.
