The Toronto Argonauts made an announcement on Monday regarding the signing of American offensive lineman Dare Rosenthal and American defensive lineman Atlias Bell.
Rosenthal, aged 24, had stints with the Philadelphia Stars (USFL) and DC Defenders (XFL) in 2023, and attended a mini-camp with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022. Standing at six-foot-seven and weighing 327 pounds, he played for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2021, starting 12 of 13 games at left tackle in the SEC. Hailing from Louisiana, Rosenthal previously played for his home state LSU Tigers from 2018 to 2020, where he participated in 12 games, starting eight, and contributed to the Tigers’ National Championship victory in 2019.
Bell, aged 25, attended the University of Houston from 2019 to 2022, amassing 83 tackles, 15.5 for loss, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 37 games for the Cougars. Standing at six-foot-one and weighing 275 pounds, he earned recognition as a Pro Football Focus All-Conference player in his senior year and was ranked as PFF’s fifth-rated edge rusher nationally.
Originally from New Orleans, Bell initially attended Iowa Western before transferring to UH, where he played a significant role in the team’s success, helping them achieve a 10-1 record and secure a bowl game victory in his second season.
